The Generation 2030 initiative seeks to redefine the relationship between Moroccan youth and public life through a comprehensive strategic vision that ensures their effective and sustainable inclusion in the economic, social, and political fabric. Amid the ongoing societal transformations, there is an urgent need for a holistic approach that addresses the structural challenges hindering youth empowerment, including unemployment, weak political representation, and the declining effectiveness of public policies targeting this demographic. Official statistics indicate that 1.5 million young people are classified as NEET (Not in Employment, Education, or Training), highlighting the shortcomings of previous development policies and underscoring the necessity of innovative solutions that go beyond traditional approaches.
This vision is directly inspired by royal directives, which have consistently emphasized that “youth is the true wealth of the nation”, rather than a burden on development. This principle is embodied in the slogan “Dignity – Hope”, where dignity serves as a cornerstone ensuring quality education, decent employment, and adequate housing, while hope acts as the driving force for building a nation that embraces its youth’s ambitions and provides them with opportunities for meaningful participation in shaping their future.
Through innovative mechanisms, Generation 2030 aims to establish open dialogue spaces and interactive surveys that allow young people to evaluate public policies and contribute to the formulation of alternatives. The initiative also advocates for integrating youth perspectives into government strategies by involving them in the phases of assessment, implementation, and evaluation.
